How to Create a Home Spa on Your Eva-tech Deck

You love the spa.  Yes you do.  Stop shaking your head and pretending you're above all that pampering nonsense.  Whether you're a regular for the mud baths or just like to guilt your girlfriend/ boyfriend into giving you a back massage, you are a creature of luxury.  But why waste the whole day indoors at a sterile spa centre when you could be at home, enjoying the summer weather and spending a lot less money by creating a personal spa on your sundeck

Summer 2012 is the perfect time to transform your Eva-tech deck into a sanctuary of facials, seaweed wraps and buffed nails.  Spread out some towels on your outdoor deck.  Toss around a few comfy pillows.  Throw in some chilled cucumber water.   Turn on relaxing music.  And now you have your own outdoor spa!

Invite the girls over for a social spa day, make it a couple’s retreat with some champagne and candles, or enjoy a bit of alone time as you rejuvenate your mind and body.

Here are a few easy spa tips for a relaxing (and affordable) day out in the sun on your low maintenance deck:

     Make your own skin treatment

Forget the expensive face products made from dragon tears and butterfly wings!  You can get the same skin-enhancing results from the items in your fridge and a blender.  Try mixing together Greek yogurt, honey, avocado oil and aloe vera.  Apply to your face or body for 20 to 30 minutes and rinse off with warm water.  Look in the mirror and admire yourself shamelessly.  You’re gorgeous, doll!

Create an (edible) Exfoliator

Due credit for this effective combo must be paid to our friends at Glamour Beauty.  Ditch the store brand exfoliators and make your own from:  1) one cup brown sugar 2) one cup olive oil 3) one cup raw oatmeal.  Apply to your body in slow circular motions.   Don’t worry too much about the mess.  Eva-tech composite is easy to clean.

Lemon Up

Lemons are the secret ingredient to your home deck spa.  Squirt lemon juice into your hair and then take a little snooze in the sun.  You’ll be amazed by your new natural highlights when you wake.  Rub lemons onto dry skin (particularly elbows and knees) for extra moisture and skin toning.  Oh, and throw a few fresh lemon slices into your water glass – remember to stay hydrated while enjoying the summer sun.

This is not just for the ladies.  Guys, get over yourselves and get ready to exfoliate – the girl(s) in your life will thank you.

I love the idea of having a girls' spa day right at home! I already love my Eva-tech deck. Good idea.

I just spent over R1 000 at a spa and now realise I could have spent half that money and had a nice day at home in the sun! Next time its def going to be a home spa day. Thanx for the tips.
