More Ways to Add a Theme to Your Outdoor Garden

Still looking for a way to transform your outdoor space?  You don’t need a big construction crew (or their big bill) to give your garden a facelift.   Consider making small changes with just your landscape, decorations and outdoor furniture.  Simple upgrades can make your outdoor deck the centre of your own personal paradise.  Here are a few (more) ideas on how to bring a unique theme to your garden.

Tiki Room

Think colour!  Bring in the life and fun of South Pacific with brightly coloured plants and furnishings for your deck.  Don’t be shy; go for big, bold fabrics and flowers in extreme pinks and oranges.  This is your chance to put summer on steroids and let the party begin!  Oh, and don’t forget to light up your tiki torches for a little evening ambience.

Proudly South African

South African wildlife is famous the world over.  Between breathtaking proteas and avo plants that grow taller than humans, you’ve got A-class inspiration all around you for your garden.  And not only does a South African theme show off your national pride, it’s good for the environment.  Using indigenous plants discourages environmentally harmful transportation and gives South African species a chance to flourish.  Surround your deck with these local beauties and use African inspired cushions and accessories to create the perfect retreat.  Throw in a daring cheetah pillow or mix a bit of cow hide into the decor.  Yebo!

Prim and Proper

Embrace your sophisticated side.  Give your deck and garden a proper feel with neatly trimmed bushes and clean lines.  Go ultra English with a mini maze if you have the space, or add in a bit of posh with wrought iron deck furniture and a muted palette.  Throw in a tease of colour with English roses to keep things interesting.

Let the afternoon teas begin!
