Eva-Last Impresses with Innovative Approach

Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, August 5 - 9, 2011: For five days the Gallagher Convention Centre was transformed into a fantasy world of the best decor ideas, products and companies in the country.  Thousands of visitors from South Africa and beyond came to see the leaders in design.  Hundreds of exhibitors worked around the clock to execute the best stands possible.  The effort paid off: visitors and exhibitors agree that this year’s show was the best yet.

Eva-Last was proud to feature their Eva-tech wood plastic composite, or WPC, in the Decorex “green” hall; the area of the expo dedicated to all things eco-friendly.  Eva-Last is well known for creating impressive Decorex stands.  For the past two years the company has won the Excellence Award at the show.  Last year, Eva-Last created a stir by winning both the Excellence and Greenest Product awards.

This year, Eva-Last decided to go for something different.  “We wanted an eye-catching stand – something that would make people say Wow” said Eva-Last technical designer, Byron Greyling.  “I think we managed that.”  The stand diverged from the usual deck-type model associated with the brand and created a modern interpretation of the Eva-tech profile.  Eva-tech boards were arranged into an angled, five-metre high profile that rose from a sleek Eva-tech deck base.  Red lighting illuminated the steps all around the stand.

Eva-tech is most often featured as an environmentally friendly and low-maintenance product.  Eva-Last decided that it was time to highlight the sophistication of the product, as well.  “We wanted people to see that Eva-tech is on the cutting edge of style,” explained Eva-Last sales representative, Paul Sofianos.

The results of the Eva-Last stand are as impressive.  “Visitors loved our stand,” said Eva-Last director, Nathan Chapman.  “Architecture students stood around and sketched the design, interior decorators are lining up to work with our Technical Design Team.”  And the best result of all?  “People now see that Eva-tech is as attractive as it is practical,” said Chapman with a smile.
