“We [at Eva-Last] have always prided ourselves on the fact that Eva-tech is made from recycled material – sawdust and cool drink bottles – and gives South Africans an alternative to timber for home projects that uses less natural resources,” explained Eva-Last director, Nathan Chapman.
This is not the first time Eva-tech has been recognised as a green product. Last year Eva-tech made history by taking home both the Greenest Product and Excellence awards from Decorex. Eva-Last won a Special Mention at the prestigious Climate Change Leadership Awards, and the Eva-Last website, www.eva-last.co.za, received a South African Web Award, partially for Eva-Last’s dedication to minimising paper usage.
The Green Design Centre provides everything from bathroom fixtures, to landscape ornaments for those looking to buy in the new housing development. Waterfall Estates is among the first large-scale developments in Africa to incorporate green building and architecture into its very essence. Waterfall Estates caters to a variety of lifestyles. Enthusiastic equestrians will enjoy a horse-friendly area of the Estate. Senior citizens will find top range senior living, while young families can enjoy the nearby schools and tight neighbourhood community created by the Estate.
However, all future residents will share one commonality – a love of nature. The Green Design Centre is adamant that each home is crafted from the finest green products available on the South African market, and promotes appreciation of the natural surroundings of the Estate.
Eva-Last looks forward to providing Eva-tech composite for these and other homes’ decking, railing and outdoor projects. “Eva-Last is just so excited to be a part of this new community,” said Eva-Last public relations representative, Katherine McKeon. “Waterfall Estates embodies the same dedication to green living and high quality as Eva-Last. We can’t wait to get started.”
