Eva-Last Enjoys the Spotlight

South African National Television, May 24, 2011 - Eva-tech recently made its television debut on popular South African programme, Top Billing.  Eva-tech composite decking was featured as part of the refurbished Southern Bells paddle boat in Zambia.  The Southern Belle restoration project was completed under the careful supervision of Protea Hotels Zambia and showcases the paddle boat in all its old Mississipi river boat splendour.

 

The Southern Belle was in sad condition when Protea Hotels Zambia first had the notion to update it.  But between the cobwebs and dusty interior there was a grandeur that could not be ignored.  Protea Hotels Zambia saw this potential and set about to bring back the classic beauty of the ship.  Months of careful planning, hard work and meticulous sourcing ensued.  As the official Hotel stance states, “Protea Hotels is dedicated to ensuring the longevity of our business for generations to come, through responsibly managing our impact on the environment, our employees and the communities in which we operate.”

Eva-Last was approached back in July, 2010 to consider supplying Eva-tech decking for the paddle boat.  Eva-Last was warned that the decking would undergo severe weather conditions and heavy usage.   Eva-tech composite had to be up to the task.  After much deliberation and inquiry Protea Hotels decided Eva-tech had the right quality and durability to become part of the Southern Belle.

Today the Southern Belle can be seen proudly cruising Lake Kariba in Zambia.  Guests are treated to stunning scenery, exotic wildlife viewing and luxurious treatment.   At the heart of the on-board experience is Eva-tech decking, which creates an outdoor place to relax, meet and mingle.
