Eva-Last Exhibits at Spoga + Gafa, Germany

Cologne, Germany, September 4 - 6, 2011: Eva-Last, the sole manufacturer of Eva-tech wood plastic composite (WPC), is setting its sights on Germany.  The proudly South African company will begin its export campaign by exhibiting at the prestigious Spoga + Gafa exhibition in Europe.  This marks the first international show to feature a composite product range created in South Africa.  It’s a big step for the Eva-Last team, but it’s one they’re ready to take.

Eva-Last was established in South Africa as an importer and distributor of composite material.  Worldwide WPC has the fastest growing material market, with over 80 manufacturers in the United States, alone.  However its environmental and low-maintenance advantages remained relatively unknown in Africa.  “When we first founded Eva-Last, maybe only one in ten people knew of WPC, and most of them were sceptical,” explained Eva-Last director, Marc Minne.  “Before we could really begin selling WPC, we had to educate the South African public about it.”

After years of strategic marketing and public awareness initiatives Eva-Last has been able to do just that.  “We’ve successfully petitioned the Green Building Council to make WPC eligible for Green Star points,” explained Eva-Last director, Nathan Chapman.  “We’ve become a finalist in the Climate Change Leadership Awards, the Decorex Greenest Product, a member of the Helderberg Built Environment Professionals Group.  We’ve been featured many times in print, on TV, radio, and we regularly lead WPC-related conversations online.”

WPC, like Eva-tech, is an environmentally-friendly alternative to timber for decking, pergolas, furniture, etc..  It is also a low-maintenance product, saving homeowners from timely staining and sealing.  Eva-tech WPC has become so popular in South Africa that Eva-Last began manufacturing the material locally.   International demand for high quality WPC spurred several export sales for Eva-tech, as well.

Now Eva-Last is taking the next step in the WPC industry by showcasing Eva-tech in Germany.  “We’re proud to take our Eva-tech WPC to exhibit in Germany,” said Chapman.  “Eva-Last was created here in South Africa, established here and is a proudly South African company through and through.”
