Many timber contractors expressed strong interest in the eco-friendly and durable Eva-tech composite material. “At the start of the show (WoodEx2012) a few members of the timber industry questioned why an alternative building material like WPC was at a timber exhibition,” said Eva-Last director, Nathan Chapman. “Since Eva-tech is not a traditional timber, this is understandable, but after they learned that Eva-tech is primarily manufactured from the timber industry’s waste by-products and learned about the benefits of Eva-tech they were excited to work with the material and learn more.”
The WoodEx exhibition hosted visitors from around the globe and featured an impressive line-up of local and international speakers from the industry. Visitors and exhibitors left the show entertained and well informed on trends in the timber and building industry.
Eva-tech representatives were excited to be part of the very first WoodEx exhibition. “This is a show that is necessary to bring South African building professionals together,” said Chapman. “The show gives us a forum to discuss construction techniques, standards and materials as well as the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with industry role-players on the future of long-life and environmentally sustainable building.”
