Ooolala...look at the latest Eva-tech composite deck in the Western Cape. This deck, constructed by Rodney Swan of Ragno Joinery, is turning heads and making neighbours jealous! The light Pebble colour complements the home's exterior perfectly. Best of all, this family will be able to actually get out and enjoy their new deck - no sealing or sanding required. Oh ya, it's also brilliant for the environment.

Today we will be hosting an Eva-tech information session at Pennypinchers Montague Gardens. We hope to be able to answer customer questions and help familiarize the employees with Eva-tech, and composite in general. Over the course of many information sessions, training sessions, exhibitions and general interaction with customers, we’ve found that certain questions about composite pop up again and again. Here are a few of those questions, with answers that we hope you will find helpful.

Just when you thought furniture was relegated to delicate tables and flimsy chairs, the Eva-tech outdoor furniture range comes along to remind you that furniture is meant to be used.
This is not your typical pretty, cutesy and easily breakable indoor furniture. It’s not your wind battered, rain ruined typical outdoor furniture. This is composite furniture designed specifically to stand up and take the wind, sun and pelting storms South Africa will throw at it. It’s designed to look as good in ten years as it does the day you add it to your outdoor deck. It’s designed to be used; really used. It can hold its own against family get-togethers, neighbourhood parties and fantastic storms.

Wow. What else can you say about someone who puts their own life at risk for the sake of the environment? That’s just what Ikal Angelei has done as part of her fearless effort to preserve Lake Turkana, a World Heritage site in East Africa’s Rift Valley.

We're not saying that popularity is the most imporatnt thing. But is nice when people like you. And they did like us - a lot - at the WoodEx show. Then again, what's not to like? Read the full story at our News and Events page. Thanks to everyone who helped make WoodEx 2012 a huge success!

Midrand, Johannesburg, March, 2012: patrons and members of South Africa’s timber industry came together last week for the WoodEx2012 exhibition, the inaugural WoodEx show and the first exhibition of its kind in the country. Eva-tech wood plastic composite (WPC) materials featured prominently at WoodEx2012 and were well received by both visitors and fellow exhibitors alike.

Eva-tech composite decking was a smash hit at the WoodEx exhibition that ran from last Thursday through Saturday. WoodEx was intended to bring members of South Africa’s timber industry together. Eva-tech was among the few eco-friendly alternative materials at the show and at first there were some sceptics. What was wood plastic composite doing at a show for wood? Well, funny you should ask.
Preparing for an exhibition is a bit like getting ready for your high school dance. Although you might try and act nonchalant, inside the butterflies are swirling in your stomach. You spend months beforehand (even if you’ll never admit it) choosing the perfect dress or suit and plan how all the accessories and details will come together. After all, presentation is important.
However presentation isn’t as important as performance. The most important part of your dance is, well, the dance. You have a date to impress, witty conversation to make and dance moves to show off. The pressure is on!
As we prepare for the WoodEx Exhibition that starts this Thursday we’re busy putting the final touches on our stand and brochures. We’re just as interested in which type decking profiles and fascia to use now as we were about which corsage to pick out back in school. But we know that appearances are only worth so much. People might be drawn in to see Eva-tech composite decking based on how original our stand design is, but they’ll really be impressed by Eva-tech’s performance.
Eva-tech isn’t just a pretty face. It’s world class weather resistant decking that’s low maintenance and good for the environment. It has one of the most extensive warranties in the building industry and is the only composite is the world with extra UV stabilizers to protect against the harsh African sunlight.
Sure we might be a little nervous before exhibiting in South Africa’s first alternative building materials show. But mostly we’re excited. We’re ready to get out there and dance!

What’s the value of design? Can it do more than just look pretty? The Cape Town Design Indaba 2012 proved that design can help change the world.
How tough is Eva-tech composite decking? Tougher than this.
