TIER™ flooring makes your home more liveable, more beautiful, and easy to maintain. With a hardy top wear layer that’s scratch and stain resistant as well as a moisture-resistant composite core, TIER™ is designed for style and function. TIER™ indoor flooring is durable, quieter underfoot, and available in a range of natural-looking finishes and colours.

With low-maintenance, long-lasting features, luxury rigid core flooring sets the bar for residential indoor flooring. Its straightforward installation, durability and competitive warranty make ownership easy. It is very safe flooring for homes with kids and pets. Its unique stone composite mixture provides exceptional stability and durability – and is highly moisture resistant when compared to wood.

TIER™ flooring is expertly engineered to elevate the functionality and aesthetics of your indoor space. With TIER™, your flooring can be both practical and elegant.

TIER™ is available in three convenient flooring profiles, as well as tongue-and-groove “click” systems and traditional glue down systems. The click system TIER™ profile allows you to easily slide and click boards into one another to create a secure, continuous installation surface. This rigid, floating system allows for quick and easy installation by utilising pre-applied backing. Other TIER™ profiles are designed for traditional glue down flooring installations. These more economical boards can be installed in the same manner as traditional vinyl flooring.

All TIER™ flooring boards are unique in their composite and PVC core, which helps mitigate the hassles associated with conventional vinyl, such as expansion, and makes them exceptionally moisture resistant.

Choose from a wide range of natural colours and patterns. TIER™ sets the new standard of low-maintenance, beautiful flooring.

TIER™ adds value, simplicity and safety to your home. Read more about the unique flooring benefits below.

The rigid CarbideCoreTM center layer is an extruded composite of powdered minerals and vinyl. The result is a new mineral polymer composite material which is extremely rigid. The benefit to you is that TIER™ flooring has a mixture of the characteristics of a ceramic tile and a vinyl floor.

The composite layers of TIER™ flooring give it unusually high sound reduction for all types of noise. The vinyl outer layer is soft under impact such as hard shoes. The dense rigid core resists received sound such as conversation or loudspeakers. The foam underlay suppresses the transmission of sound into the building. Most materials are not good at all types of sound suppression. TIER™ flooring is an unusual combination of materials which reduces noise in the room and sound transferred to the structure.

The core layer can tolerate temperatures of up to 80oC (176oF) without any adverse effects. This means that when one part of your floor is exposed to direct sunlight and the other part is in shade; there are no differences in how the two areas behave. The benefit to you is that you will never see warping, bending or buckling – even in areas with extreme sunlight.

The mineral component of the core makes it stable, like a stone. It will not change shape or size under different temperature and moisture conditions, and it will not react with typical household chemicals. This stability allows you to install TIER™ flooring without expansion gaps on areas up to 40 0 m² even between adjacent rooms. The benefit to you is that TIER™ will remain a barefoot friendly surface.

The materials which make up the layers of TIER™ flooring are highly resistant to moisture absorption. The precision of TIER™ flooring means the click joint system forms a snug, water-tight fit. The benefit to you is that TIER™ flooring will not allow a mess or spill to penetrate beneath your flooring and will not absorb water, swell or buckle.

The core layer is an innovative material which can be machined to exact standards. The reliability of this new material means that the shape and size of these precise parts remain consistent. The benefit to you is that TIER™ flooring is easy to install. The edges will not wear away against each other or deform over time.

The CarbideCore™ is a mineral-vinyl composite free of any glues, meaning it will not emit a volatile organic compound (VOC) into your home or office. When adding the foamed base and the surface wear layer, only VOC-free adhesives are used. The benefit to you is a safe, healthy environment and peace of mind that TIER™ flooring brings no dangerous chemicals into your home and work environment.

TIER™ flooring can be installed as a floor or glued onto a wall, similar to a ceramic tile. Flexible adhesives are recommended for wall applications. The benefit to you is that no preparation is required for floor or wall applications, other than ensuring that the surface is dry, flat and clear of debris.

The foam underlay of the TIER™ indoor floorboard is coated using a unique antimicrobial additive. This prevents the growth of a wide range of unwanted microorganisms. The benefit to you is a fresh, clean and protected surface.

Installing TIER™ flooring is quick and easy with a rigid tongue and groove click system that creates a watertight, seamless finish. For complete details, visit the website www.tierflooring.com and download the care and installation guides.

TIER indoor flooring

The NEW generation of interior flooring hits the market

Eva-Last® is getting ready to launch a new generation of interior flooring products in South Africa. Tier Flooring, which is described as “fabulous and functional flooring” is the result of three years of research and development by the Eva-Last® team and is set to offer the built environment something completely different.

Eva-Last® traditionally specialised in exterior flooring, but their vast experience in extrusion composites has enabled them to manipulate their flooring technology for internal applications. Tier Flooring is based on a mixture of composite and vinyl flooring, which have been combined through Eva-last®’s patented continual extrusion process. The material characteristics have been engineered to be extremely suitable for internal flooring for a number of reasons

“Vinyl flooring, engineered flooring and solid wood flooring all have their own unique benefits and drawbacks. We’ve developed Tiered Flooring to address the drawbacks of each of the current market segments available,” says Wesley XXXXXXXX from Eva-Last®.

Structured wood, while beautiful, can be cost-prohibitive for certain projects or clients. Vinyl flooring, on the other hand, may require special installation techniques such as rigorous subfloor preparation and paying careful attention to expansion and contraction possibilities.

“Many contractors and flooring installers have complained that huge gaps may need to be accommodated for in vinyl flooring installations to allow the flooring to expand and contract. Another common complaint is that the flooring follows the exact shape of the

floor, so any imperfection in the subfloor shows up on the surface. We wanted to make a flooring product that would be a bit more forgiving, more cost-effective and quicker to install,” says Wesley.

Another potential weakness of some products that Tier Flooring set out to address was the absorption of water. Many vinyl and engineered floors are made with particle boards, which are essentially MBF boards with a few anti-scratch and other performance layers. These layers often consist of wood fibres that will absorb water if the liquid isn’t mopped up within a few minutes. The product that has been developed by the Eva-Last® team is waterproof and can be installed in kitchens, bathrooms, as well as on floors and walls.

“Another consideration with particle boards is the base. Some of the ingredients in these boards have been known to cause cancer, which has led to strict air quality regulations with product development of this type of flooring. Tier Flooring doesn’t have this challenge as it is a composite floor,” says Wesley.

The base layer of Tier Flooring is foam, which makes it soft underfoot. The core layer is soft and smooth, and it can be described as a synthetic porcelain that is similar to a porcelain tile, although it is a synthetic composite of vinyl. The rigidity of the structure of the floor means that it doesn’t telegraph underlying abnormalities in a floor, so less self-levelling screed is needed which in turn saves time and money

“Tier Flooring is also very simple to install. The cutting process is similar to tiles and you don’t need any special tools. You can use a utility knife or a tile cutter to cut the boards. Simply take a prepared surface and a tile cutter, make a mark on the surface and break it with your hand. The board will break along the line as if it were glass. We are very excited about this product and look forward to seeing it in leading residential and commercial flooring projects,” concludes Wesley.
