ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Operations
  • Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Review financial transactions and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
2. Internal Controls & Risk Management:
  • Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews.
3. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
4. Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision making.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process and assist department heads in developing their budgets.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts to support ongoing business operations.
6. Cash Flow Management:
  • Manage cash flow projections and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor cash balances, cash inflows, and outflows, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Implement cash management strategies to optimize working capital efficiency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance Team for Eva-Last South Africa and Hong Kong finance functions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Demonstrable track record in performing the role.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in accounting.
  • CA(SA) advantageous
  • Happy to take a hands-on approach.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a comparable position in a growing small to medium sized organization.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • System experience with SAP would be beneficial.
  • A mindset of operational excellence (continuous improvement).
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES/REGISTRATIONS
  • South African driver’s license
  • Member of a recognized professional body
  • CA (SA) advantageous
SKILLS:
  • Proven accounting experience.
  • Support and mentoring of staff.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well organized.
