ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Operations
1. Financial Operations
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Review financial transactions and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
2. Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews.
3. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
- Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
4. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision making.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and assist department heads in developing their budgets.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis.
- Prepare rolling forecasts to support ongoing business operations.
6. Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow projections and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Monitor cash balances, cash inflows, and outflows, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Implement cash management strategies to optimize working capital efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Demonstrable track record in performing the role.
- Post Graduate Qualification in accounting.
- CA(SA) advantageous
- Happy to take a hands-on approach.
- Minimum of 2 years in a comparable position in a growing small to medium sized organization.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- System experience with SAP would be beneficial.
- A mindset of operational excellence (continuous improvement).
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES/REGISTRATIONS
- South African driver’s license
- Member of a recognized professional body
- CA (SA) advantageous
SKILLS:
- Proven accounting experience.
- Support and mentoring of staff.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well organized.
