ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop detailed project plans.
  • Develop detailed program to meet site requirements.
  • Manage staff of several sites.
  • Attend site meetings.
  • Resolve site challenges.
  • Manage the relationship with the client/main contractor/QS firms and architects.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Monthly site report per site, progress vs budget.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Ensure the deployment of proper financial controls to manage the project cost.
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure the effective implementation, management, monitoring of the project costs and mitigate and report on any variances.
  • Ensure that the project management plan is within the parameters of the approved project justification parameters.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks,
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Establish and manage project administration and infrastructure protocols to support project delivery and control.
  • Design and manage project control mechanisms to track project progress against the agreed upon project management plan.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documents.
  • Report on project progress and develop direct communications channels for the project.
  • Attendance registers.
  • H&S management and implementation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage site team leaders.
  • Manage employees under the team leader.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Construction Management Studies or related field: BSc degree plus two years relevant work experience post qualification, OR BTech/Advanced Diploma plus three years relevant work experience post qualification.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects.
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES/REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential.
